This production took us to Kenya to shoot a music video for the Somali born Canadian refugee and Hip Hop artist, K'naan: The Dusty Foot Philosopher.

The video and a four minute short doc about the video is playing on MTV worldwide, VH1, Much Music in Canada, and Channel O in Africa. It is the first North American Hip Hop video ever shot on location in Africa.

We also produced a half hour documentary of K'naan's return to Africa. Along the way K'naan connects with a thriving Hip Hop scene, films in rough and tough "Little Somalia" and meets an inspiring young hero by the name of Salim Mohammed who takes him on a tour of where he works in Kibera, the largest slum in East Africa.

This documentary shows a never before seen view of life in Africa. It shows the beauty, dignity and power of people living life despite their struggle and challenges. It shows the thriving Kenyan Hip Hop scene. 4REAL Kenya also features the incredible spirit of Salim as he brings light to a place few people want anything to do with.

Ultimately, 4REAL Kenya is about K'naan's incredible story and process as a refugee who escaped war and returns to promote peace through his art.
